5/20/13:  Math placement test:  Students who took the math placement test on one of the last two Saturdays, your results will be mailed out early in the summer.  If you missed the placement test or have recently been granted a transfer, alternate dates will be set during the summer.  Please check this site frequently for that information

5/20/13:  Students who have been granted transfers:  If you have recently been granted a transfer, we will need to get an enrollment form, proof of address, and schedule requests from you as soon as possible.  The enrollment form and schedule request form are under the documents and resources tab on this site.  If you have questions, please call us at 485 – 7618.

4/30/13:  If you have an incoming freshman for 2013/2014 and missed one of the 4 scheduling sessions:  We need to get schedule requests from you.  The schedule request form is located on this site under documents and resources along with a listing of course descriptions for freshman electives.  Please complete the scheduling form and return it to Ballard (attention Phil Johnston) along with the other requested documentation (copy of proof of address, enrollment form, etc.)  The needed information was on the enrollment flyer you received in the mail (also can be found under documents and resources on this site).  Don’t forget to schedule your child for the math placement test.

4/25/13: **NEW**  For Incoming Freshmen currently at non-JCPS middle schools only:  Students currently in the 8th grade at non-JCPS middle schools may take the JCPS 8th grade technology test over the summer.  You must call 485 – 3010 to set up an appointment with the Computer Education department on one of the following dates: June 17th, June 24th, or July 12th.  You must make an appointment.  This is the only way to meet the technology graduation requirement without having to take a computer applications course in high school.

4/10/13:   Summer school PE/Health and Art applications are available now.  Dates are June 7th through July 2nd from 8:00am to 2:00pm.  Contact the South Office if you are interested in an application(485-7618).  Cost is $400.00 for a full credit.

REMINDER to incoming Freshmen and parents.  Enrollment/Scheduling session dates have been set.  See the enrollment flyer under Documents and Resources.  This was also mailed out to students who are projected to Ballard based on their address or who were accepted under one of the Career Theme Programs or through Open Enrollment.

3/14/13:  Enrollment session dates for incoming freshmen have been set, as well as dates we are giving the math placement test(incoming freshmen).  Information is being mailed out next week.  The flyers that will be included in the mailing are under the documents and resources tab on this website.  The mailing will be sent to students who are projected to Ballard based on their address, as well as students who have recently been accepted through open enrollment or through the career theme programs.  If you are unsure if Ballard is your resides school, visit www.jcpsky.net and go to the parents tab.  There is a link on that page to find the schools that serve your address.

ILP’sIt is a graduation requirement that students complete/update their ILP (Individual Learning Plan) each year.  Students are beginning to go to the computer lab with their classes to work on the ILP, but it is good if the student can work on it at home as well.  Parents, we encourage you to look at the ILP with your student.  If your student doesn’t know their username or password, they can come to the South Office and request that information (please have them try to log in to JCPSOnline first using their normal username and password.  They can access CareerCruising directly through JCPSOnline).  ILP’s must get to 100% complete each school year.
